Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Set up in 2001, the Dot NAME universal top-level extension is the sole TLD meant for personal websites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other titles people are known by. Initially, just 3rd-level registrations were allowed, so if you wanted to buy john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Existing third-level domains remained functional.

Through our company, you can buy your .NAME domain for a time interval between 1 and 10 years. You will be able to update the WHOIS contact details, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our company if you obtain its EPP transfer authorization code from the current registration provider and we will renew it after the transfer has been done. There are no specific requirements on who can obtain a dot NAME domain, but in order to keep the goal behind its creation alive, the Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.
